About Us

Smt. Shinu Chandran is a Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer, and teacher with over  14 years of experience in nurturing the art form. Trained under the guidance of Guru Srinivasan Iyengar of the Kalakshetra tradition, Shinu has cultivated a unique style that blends classical rigor with contemporary storytelling.

Shinu is also the co-founder of NARTANAH, a center for aspiring dancers to explore and learn Bharatanatyam. The school is dedicated to teaching not only the physical movements of the dance form but also its rich cultural, spiritual, and historical significance.

With a vision to preserve and promote Indian classical arts, Shinu actively conducts workshops, lecture-demonstrations, and performances. She has won accolades from school days to college semi classical dance competitions in Mumbai, Inter-IT dance drama competition in Pune during her tenure at Infosys, Internantional festivals in dance forms such as Semi-classical, folk style, contemporary, bollywood and odissi from Nrityagram learning from Sangeet Natak Academy awardee Surupa Sen, while she continued the legacy of Bharatanatyam after moving to San Diego.

Smt. Shinu Chandran is a Bachelor in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering with an Master's degree in Marketing and Analytics. She has 13 years of professional IT experience in Analytics with various companies such as Infosys, Gramener, Deloitte and Novartis. When not dancing, Shinu is a Analytics enthusiast, who loves to explore the new technologies.

Starting Nartanah has been a family dream with Smt. Anitha Chandran, mother of Nartanah, Smt. Shitha Chandran, an Architect, Founder of Nartanah and sister of Smt. Shinu Chandran. With the blessings of our father, Late Mr. P Chandran, we hope to take Nartanah to every corner of the World.
